Yeah. Him, too.

I went all in with ARod this postseason and that roll came up craps. I thought he was going to win the World Series MVP. I think he will be traded during the offseason and I think he needs to be traded. 2006 was bad enough and 2007 is shaping up to be downright unbearable for all parties involved.

Just make sure you trade him to the National League, please.

This is entirely speculation, but the "experts" say A-Rod's most likely destination is Anaheim.

It has to irk you that the unrealistic expectations of the media and fans, not performance, is the reason for A-Rod's probable departure. I'd be disappointed to see it if it weren't a top 10 player leaving the franchise I hate most.

As it stands, I'm enjoying the shit out of everyone's overreaction to the Yankees' playoff exit.

Even Jeter and Torre are taking some hits. It seems obvious that Torre never had the clubhouse respect that the press lapdogs thought he had. I never thought it would snowball into laying down in the first round of the ALDS, but that's what happened.

ARod and others deserve a lot of criticism and I can no longer defend his postseason meltdown. I don't think it's a fundamental problem with his psyche, I think he's a streaky hitter who's being judged on a small sample size.

The difference, for me, is that I think the criticism is now fair. Almost all of the previous criticism was unfair.

I think ARod could survive in New York and perform well, but I just think his presence will make Yankee Stadium completely unenjoyable.

Also, I think it's important for Yankee fans to understand that the 2007 absence of ARod, Sheffield, Mussina, and others will result in a third-place finish. Maybe fourth place if the Devil Rays can get some pitching.

You can look at the successes of the Mets and Tigers and say, "let's do that! All we need are young players!" But these teams were absurdly awful for years. Jeff Duncan was a young player, too.

That literally seems to be the solution that a lot of people are proposing. Scour the minor leagues again and find replacements for Pettitte, Jeter, Mariano, Bernie, Posada, and Mendoza. But do it without having high draft picks.

Piece of cake.

So, yeah. This doesn't just seem like a playoff loss, it seems like the end of a winning era.
