I disagree with Mitch Getz.

I can't believe it ... a post about Joe Torre! You really should just admit your man-love for him already. It's ridiculous that you're still writing about him a month after he left the Yankees. Get over it, dude.

If I find a funny article, I'll post it. Mitch Getz must have the man crush. Can you imagine? A manager takes a $200 million team, ekes out the wild card, and loses in the first round.

That's the best Mitch Getz could come up with for Sportsmen of the Year.

I say Ron Washington is Sportsman of the Year.

Seriously, though, what happened to Sports Illustrated? My goodness.

"There was the drama of Alex Rodriguez burdened by his own postseason futility, the return of Roger Clemens (coming out of retirement, again), and Jason Giambi seeking respectability after his steroid confession. Thankfully, Derek Jeter's tax troubles came after the season."

These are the trials and tribulations of MLB's highest paid manager. An MVP season from his third baseman, a return of a 7-time Cy Young Award winner (albeit a washed up 7-time Cy Young Award winner), and ... Jason Giambi.

Thankfully, Derek Jeter's tax troubles came after the season.

I mean, if Torre had to also deal with Derek Jeter's tax troubles, Torre wouldn't be Sportsmen of the Year. He'd be President of the United States.
